Tajweed Tutorial – Lesson 2

الْإِلْصَاقُ

This can be defined as a way by which each letter in Arabic alphabets joins, clings or merges with another letter. Each letter has 4 forms:

  1. When you write the letter by itself.
  2. When it comes in the beginning of a word.
  3. When it comes in the middle of a word.
  4. When it comes at the end of a word.

Arabic alphabets have different way by which of the is written in either in the beginning of a word, in-between or at the end of an Arabic word.

They are also written like hand writings because part of a letter is clinged or joined with some parts of another letter.

There are six (6) letters that can not be joined or connected to another letter due to their shapes while the remaining 22 letters can easily be joined or connected to letter that follows it.

The followings are the letters in their respective forms, (Note that, we grouped all the letters in resemblance manner) :

It’s second to the last letter, letter Hamzah. It has special case when it comes to its writing, we will talk about it in the next page.
